A 25-year-old lady from Shenzhen visited HANFEI Plastic Surgery Hospital hoping to enhance her nasal contour through comprehensive
prosthetic rhinoplasty. She had long been dissatisfied with her nose: her nasal bridge was low, making her face look flat; her nasal tip was round and lacked definition; and her nasal alae were slightly flared, causing her nose to appear wider from the front. During the consultation, we discussed various options. Considering her skin thickness and facial bone structure, we chose a high-quality silicone prosthesis for the nasal bridge (to ensure stability and a natural texture) and combined it with autologous ear cartilage to shape the nasal tip (to avoid rigidity and improve biocompatibility). We also made a slight adjustment to her nasal alae by removing a tiny amount of soft tissue to narrow the nasal base—all while ensuring the changes complemented her facial features (such as her almond eyes and heart-shaped face).
The surgery proceeded smoothly, and she only experienced mild discomfort in the first week. When she had the splint removed two weeks later, she looked in the mirror and said, “This is exactly what I imagined! It doesn’t look like a ‘fake nose’ at all.” By the third month, the nasal contour had fully stabilized: the bridge was straight and natural (not excessively high), the tip was slightly upturned with clear definition, and the alae no longer appeared flared. Her friends commented that she looked more refined, but few guessed she had undergone rhinoplasty—they simply thought she “took better care of herself.”
