1.  Will blackheads get larger if not removed?
Yes, it will. As a kind of grease secretion, blackheads will be accumulated into larger ones if not removed, and big holes will be left once large blackheads are removed. If improper care is performed, these holes can become something similar to acne pits.

2. Will blackheads become nevi if not removed?
No, it won’t. They are different matter. Blackheads are the problem of hair, which is the mixture of grease and waste while nevi are caused by the abnormality of melanocytes in the skin. They have different forming causes and locations.

3. What do the differences between blackheads and whiteheads lie in?
Whiteheads are closed acnes. Sebum becomes whiteheads in the undecomposed keratin within closed pores.
Blackheads are open acnes. Within open pores, sebum is oxidized into blackheads after coming into contact with the air.

4. What if there are obviously large pores after removing blackheads?
Pores appearing after blackheads removal are caused by grease and shall be refined by the products containing salicylic acid as this kind of products can clear the dead skin cells around the pores.

5. Can blackheads be removed by squeezing, acne needles or brushing?
Actually it’s the most common but the least advocated way to remove blackheads by squeezing as blackheads are hard to be completely squeezed out of the skin and once the pores and the surrounding skin are damaged by squeezing, blackheads get larger and can easily lead to inflammation and acnes.
As for acne needles and brushing, they can decrease the number of blackheads more or less, yet the pores forming blackheads remain still. So it’s pores refinement that counts.

6. Is it useful to remove blackheads by salt or rice?
Well, these can be good ideas, but the effects can be unsatisfying. Overuse or improper operation of them can lead to destruction of barrier functions of the skin, consequently causing other skin problems.

7. Can blackheads be removed by face cleaning gadget?
Although face cleaning gadget can help well clean your face, it cannot completely refine the coarse pores as it can just get the blackheads out of the pores instead of improving the pits also.

8. Does sunscreen application influence blackheads?
Many people think that their blackheads are caused by their applying too many skincare products on their faces which then block the pores. Well, though this can be a cause, sunscreen application shall be excluded because the reasons for blackheads formation include oil and oxidation, and of course photooxidation is also part of the reasons. So sunscreen application helps to improve blackheads.

9. Can blackheads be removed by facial cleanser?
Facial cleansers containing salicylic acid or tartaric acid can gently exfoliate the face and dissolve excess sebum, helping to improve blackheads.

10. Is it because that I haven’t thoroughly cleaned my skin that blackheads are produced?
Not necessarily. Blackheads are blockage by grease hardening. That is, once the grease in the skin is not removed in time, blackheads can be formed as the grease will get hardened and then block the pores.
The nose is the part that most easily secretes grease which if not cleared in time will deposit and change into little black spots mixed with the large amount of cumulate dead skin cells. So removing excess grease and oil control are the key to remove blackheads.

11. Can blackheads be removed by laser treatment?
Severe blackheads can be removed by laser treatment as it is a reliable treatment with fast speed, no pain and little side effect.

12. How many times of laser treatment does it take to remove blackheads?
Commonly, 3 to 5 times can be enough.
